i think i have resolved the issue above, but so far i am not happy with kbasic, as it seems to take so long to compile even the simplest program (a form with a command button to show a msgbox), while the program is running, my computer is almost totally non responsive, the kbasic hung up completely and i had to close in task manager. when i create a new project, add a form and try to run, i get some error message about a missing constructor in kbasic\ide\cache\default.kbasic

i am looking for some update from vb6, without going to vb.net, but would like some response, before proceeding further

Please try out the final release of KBasic 1.6, comming soon.

Many problems like the database connection have been solve as additional new features have been implemented like having database tables in KBasic, edit the data there, CVS import/export, code browser for the current file, report generator completed, form/child forms, table view for controls with sql binding, query by example can be used to store queries, new complex example projects and general bug fixes. Furthermore, the compilation is now much faster, because it uses cached compilation.
