GPL: yes open source

Postby dfoolz » Sun May 16, 2010 2:40 pm

The binary dowloads are trial versions except for the linux version. All source codes are provided as open source, so if you are not willing to buy a commercial license and want to use them under the terms of the well known software license GPL3 you are free to use the source codes for your own.

The same will happen for Q7Basic.

You have no right to complain at all.

Why is it that the first time I load the program it asks for a license key and tells me that it is NOT free software?

Your software sucks, you shouldn't be charging for it.

The reason it sucks is becaus you e falsely advertise it as open source when this is in fact NOT the case.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Source_Definition

1. Free Redistribution
The license shall not restrict any party from selling or giving away the software as a component of an aggregate software distribution containing programs from several different sources. The license shall not require a royalty or other fee for such sale.

Thanks for wasting 15 minutes of my life.........

http://www.kbasic.com/doku.php?id=source_codes

Just observe that it has a GPL licence, that's free for personal use, or for a GPL'ed app!

Regarding the new Q7Basic I haven't seen any open source statement.
