Install on OpenSuse 10.3

If you have problems with the installation of KBasic, you are right here

Install on OpenSuse 10.3

I have a few questions.

1. Is there a 64 bit version?
2. Can this be installed from a software repository? This way all dependencies will be downloaded and installed automatically.
3. I am getting the following error:

Code: Select all
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 1: [Desktop: command not found
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 15: X-DCOP-ServiceType=: command not found
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 16: X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false: command not found
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 17: X-KDE-Username=: command not found
kyle@linux-beast:~> '/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop'
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 1: [Desktop: command not found
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 15: X-DCOP-ServiceType=: command not found
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 16: X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false: command not found
/home/kyle/Desktop/KBasic.desktop: line 17: X-KDE-Username=: command not found

What dependency am I missing?

There is no 64bit version yet and not planned for the next few months.
It seems like the KBasic desktop icon created for starting KBasic does not work on opensuse 10.3.

I used opensuse 10.2 to create the download package.

Open the console. Goto the kbasic directory and run ./kbide. This will start KBasic.
Hope this helps.

Another approach and I think a better one is to open the menu editor and put it in the menu. This way you can put in your panel; a lot easier to get to than the icon or menu.

Good luck.
