Qt & LGPL

Qt & LGPL

I understand Kbasic uses Qt which is now licensed under the LGPL, and I appologise if this question has been answered before but I cannot find the exact answer I'm looking for in the forums or in the KBasic FAQ.

I am developing a program, initially for my own use, but with the possibility of one day, making it commercial and selling it. I don't want to commit to KBasic until i'm happy the LGPL license suits my needs.

I read that under most circumstances a commercial Qt license is not required. But what are most circumstances? I know this can be a complex subject and I'm pretty sure my application would not violate the LGPL but would like an example of an application when a commercial license would be required.

Assuming my application complies with the GPL, I assume I can distrubute it without any mention of LGPL, just my application, and my own license agreement.

Appologies again if this has been covered over and over again
